131ft 1/2 in of used string re-attached, by felting and stitching, to a 40 year-old spool of string which has been in my family just as long. From 2015 until the present, the string was used for a variety of purposes, from tying up plants in the garden, crocheted into coasters, to being used to install artworks and in performance art. The string is activated by a mechanism on the ceiling which endlessly attempts to wind the string back onto the spool, always inevitably failing to do so.
